“Three quarters of executives say that stress adversely affects their health, happiness and home life as well as their performance at work”
CIPD 2009

“Ask yourself what your priorities really are....do you feel real only in your work? I’m a recovering workaholic... The past 20 months have been painful and I have needed the intense help of my excellent counsellor, as I have faced up to what work has done to me and those around me.” Ken Jarrold, Ex Head of HR for the NHS Executive, April 2007

Feeling isolated? Feeling stuck? Waking up at three in the morning in a cold sweat? Or, not sleeping and then waking up tired, got a cough that just won’t budge?

Executive Support – Counselling – What is it all about?

  • It is, and must be, voluntary. You decide if you want it or need it.
  • It is a form of help that is guided by you and your needs. It is directed by you.
  • It is totally confidential (commercially / personally). However, for your safety, the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy’s Framework for Ethical Practice is adhered to at all times which requires this confidentiality to be compromised in certain situations (Please refer to the BACP website for further details).
  • You will work one to one with a BACP Accredited Counsellor, highly experienced in working with Executives / Senior Managers. With an enhanced ability to listen, they will work in a non–judgemental way and have a range of ways available to them to help you find a way forward through your difficulties.
  • It is often referred to as a ‘talking therapy’. Though most of the work is likely to be around ‘talking’, other methods (writing / drawing) may also be used.
  • Each session will last an hour.
  • The frequency of sessions is likely to be weekly, where work/home commitments will allow.
